Avast Scan

I use Avast free. When I run a smart scan it always stops at 43%. As far as I can remember this has only happened since I updated it. Anything I can do apart from uninstalling and reinstalling it? W7, chrome. Thanks.

It is possible that you may have an item of Malware on your Computer/laptop.

Download and run a scan with the Free edition of Malwarebytes. Reject any offers for a trial of the Premium edition and ensure that there are Not any boxes ticked for any other offers.

Thanks for your reply, however, I do that regularly and it hasn't made any difference!
