After being told for months that I am due to enjoy increased speed broadband completely free of charge, I have now just received notification from Virgin that my bill will be going up by £3.49 a month from February 2016.
Does anyone else believe that with increasing technology, and increasing competition, bills should be coming down instead of going up?
Remember the times when increases were made in pennies, or at least under a pound?
We are continually being ripped-off by big business. It is my opinion that like-for-like Commercial Organisations are often in league with each other and there is very little competition.
Increased Technology brings down the price of equipment but operating such equipment means an increase in running costs.
I saw on another forum that the takeover of EE by BT, and also the possible takeover of O2 by "3" will probably mean the cost of mobile phone services will got UP due to less competition between the various mobile phone companies.
To be fair to Virgin I am on 100 mbps and will soon go up to 150 mbps which way more than I could get from any other broadband company so I don't mind paying the extra (I am on Virgin Cable).
