Can Blu-Ray DVDs be played on any DVD player or does it have to be Blu-Ray enabled ( in some way)?

It needs to be a blu-ray DVD player.
You need to buy a player that plays BluRay DVD.

You cant "upgrade" an ordinairy DVD player to play BluRays.
But the blu ray player will play dvds.
No.

Thanks folks.
Bloody wife has bought me BluRay DVDs and I have a bog standard DVD player.
Blu ray players are dirt cheap these days. If you've got a HD tv it's definitely worth it
Question Author
Thanks hc, yes we do have a HD TV.
Some blu ray players turn your dumb tv in to a smart tv. Worth looking into but I don't know how they work in Spain
Question Author
OK thanks hc.
Sorry to be a bit pedantic....but Blu-ray is one format and DVD is another format. There is no such thing as a "Blu-ray DVD".
A playstation has Blue Ray, get two for the price of one then and if you lik it to the internet it will do other things too as a smart tv does.
Tell the missus that you only have a red-ray DVD player.
Red, being a longer wavelength, can't distinguish the level of detail on a blu-ray disk like blue can.
I can really see Sqad playing Call of Duty on his PS
Sqad you shouldn't have opened your presents yet anyway.
