please can someone help me with my apple ipad 2 . this morning after sending one e.mail, then looking on facebook all of a sudden my ipad froze at this moment in time it has remained with half a facebook the bottom where i presume the type set would be is not there. i already tried pressing the off button at the side which normally i would press to close but it has remained frozen. i am on holiday right now australia and my ipad 2 is my lifeline to my fami;y if anyone can please help me that would be super i thank you and wait for any time line we are 11 hours ahead here but being an oldie am 62 i am lost having to use my friends laptop please help thank you.

Try holding both buttons at the same time untill the apple appears. That now should restart.

This happened to me once on holiday too. I did what giggsie has suggested and it worked fine from then on,

I know nothing about iPads but feel certain that Giggsie has given you the answer, which is in keeping with Apple's official advice.
