I don't know why but I bought the above printer three years ago and it's quite good but recently when I print something it prints an extra page at the end which says 'EROR:TIMEOUT' and OFFENDING COMMAND:timeout

STACK: Any ideas how to get rid of this nuisance?

have you tried disabling : "advanced printing features" , you can find it if you open the printer properties, then the tab advanced, that at the bottom you can unchech that option

You could also try updating your printer driver to the latest version, if not already done so. See:-
