I have a Lenovo G510 laptop running Windows 10 and Firefox.
A couple of weeks back I was getting annoyed at pop-up FB etc links on a website. A couple of days after that I was 'tinkering' with the laptop and found a box that I could tick to prevent such pop-ups happening.
It means that when I use YouTube I am unable to post a video onto FB as the options are not there. My attempt to post a link to a treadmill for my cat also failed.
I have looked everywhere to see how I can undo this and have failed. Not having any technical knowledge I am not even sure where I may have ticked this box.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?? I have tried options under Tools, my add-ons etc but can't find it.
I don't use Facebook but, based upon a post on another forum, (in Facebook, obviously) try Privacy Setting > Blocking > Block Apps and unblock Youtube.
Chris - nothing there that can help. I have removed the ability for me to share anything on the Laptop. It is an annoyance and I can work around it but I am annoyed with myself for forgetting what I have done.
I will shut it down and go and play Sudoku on my Kindle with the kitties fighting for ownership of the bed.
Susan
Thanks for trying to decipher my post - when you don't know what you have done explaining it is a little difficult.
Have you used the option share with 'only me'? I'm not an expert but if only you can see it - none of your friends can, do you use chrome, firefox IE - I looked at your post, googled and a lot of people had problems with chrome/youtube and windows 10 this is one such link, just as a related style post maybe https://davescomputertips.com/forum/windows-10-operating-system/windows-10-unable-to-watch-videos/
I've narrowed it down to being Firefox or AVG (and AVG privacy/privacy fix) as the problem doesn't exist on another browser.
I have AVG and it also shows that I have AVG Zen (whatever that is). I have tried everything you 'guys' have suggested so I am going to go for a nap and then try again. If all else fails then I will either take an axe to the laptop or un-install/reinstall AVG.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and it is fine now. Although not a 'real' problem it was beginning to annoy me because I couldn't find out what I had done. I have still no idea what I did initially..
Thanks to all of you..... even Andrew who didn't leave a post.
