Cold Callers.

I had a cold call this morning, which I ignored as I didn't recognise the number on the caller display. A recorded message was left, which I deleted. When I rang 1471, the recorded message said number withheld. Are the cold callers getting crafty by displaying a number, so you answer the phone?

no idea. My caller id is set up with the names of people I will answer the phone to. My own number is withheld. I have got two friends with withheld numbers and we all know that if we landline phone instead of texting, then we won’t pick up till we hear who it is. I never do 1471.

Have a look at the BT8500 its a very useful piece of kit only the people in your address book get through.

Yes they are melv, they are extremely devious !

They can display pretty well whatever number they like, so you might be fooled into thinking an international call is from inside the UK.

I received on once saying it came from 0123456789.

I didn't answer.
