I have to 'dog sit' at my granddaughter's over the Easter Weekend.

She does not have Sky Sports & I would be a bit lost without it.

Could I disconnect my box & take it to her house so I can view
the sport? Will my card be accepted?

I think you may need to take you sky box Mampara as well as the card. Will have a look. Particularly if it is a different system. ie sky+ or sky hd+ or even the old sky basic.

Thanks Togo
Yes thought so. Just a word, if you have sky+ you will have 2 input leads to your box. If your granddaughter has a single lead input type box from the dish, you may not be able to record. If have your system set to record a series you may miss anything that is broadcast whilst you are there, but can use catch up. Before making the switch I would try your card in her machine.

Good advice - thanks.
Just a thought Mampara. Do not plug in the telephone line at your granddaughter's address into your sky box, sky will not be any the wiser then. Ignore any message from sky to do so. If I were you I would also make sure I had my sky details to hand whilst there. Account no. and any passwords etc.
Would it not be simpler to dog-sit at your house?
Perhaps Mampara has a cat.
I'm sure the cat wouldn't beat the dog up too much. :-)
We tend not to do chit chat in Technology wolf.
Pre Sky Digital you could just take the card - I would do that when babysitting next door as they didn't have movies.

Nowadays the card is paired to the box.

Before disconnecting the box from the dish it must be disconnected from the mains electric - otherwise you could knacker the lnb - the bit on the dish.

If there is only one input cable at your daughters and you have a sky+hd box then you can change the box to single input (choose settings then press select to highlight one of the submenus but don't go into the submenu then press 0 1 then select and you should be into a hidden menu - from which you can set single feed mode - cable must be connected to lnb1 input.). Remember to put it back to normal when you get home.

I don't know if that feature is on a sky+ box but when I had that I had a manual work around to set recordings - set a recording for something that statts before your program, then set your program to record - the first will fail but yours should record.
Do you have a laptop you could take to her house?

If so, and she has a wi fi router, then you could watch Sky on your laptop using Sky Go.

Or if she has a laptop of PC you could watch it on her computer using Sky Go.

My son has computer in his loft bedroom in our house and he is always watching Sky on it using Sky Go.
>>>Or if she has a laptop of PC

Sorry that should say:

Or if she has a laptop OR PC
