I got a Super Hub from Virgin - I have been meaning to install it for a 'few' months.

I know that wiring it up is not too complex but the information in their little booklet is overly complicated so as to cover all scenarios.

I just need to know the sequence of my intended actions.

• Call the automated activation number
• Do I then wait or just plough ahead and wire it up?
• Once I have wired it all up does the wi-fi set itself up automatically
• or do I have to go into settings?
• Will/should it all be up and running after this?

I can't get my brain into gear ~ it is probably really simple and idiot-proof

The order you've set ^^^^ is about right. Activation is almost instant.
Wi Fi is on by default. Your overthinking it!!
Write down the passphrase that is somewhere on the Superhub. You will need this to access wifi on your pc and devices as it will be different to the one you currently use.

Thanks to both of you.

I tried the instructions (it's a girl thing) but it was so basic that it confused me. I will try it this evening or tomorrow.

:-)

I phoned the nice little boy in India this morning to get my hub activated and it was surprisingly simple. I know that instruction booklets are designed to cover every eventuality but it just made the thought of it all too scary.

It then took me way too long to find the file that I spend most of yesterday typing up. I knew it was stored as it auto-saves documents. I couldn't face typing it all again. But I eventually did find it ~ that has never happened to me before and it was dashed annoying.

Thanks to all of you (even trt) :-)
Glad you've got it sorted - at last. :D
