Scanner Sw Installation With No Language Choice
My Win XP Prof runs with a German desktop. I have recently purchased an Epson scanner, and one has to install the software before inserting USB and power plugs. Nothing new there, really, having done so with assorted HW. On starting the scanner's software installation, the first dialogue window seeks verification that I do want Epson's SW on my PC. This text was in German. There was no opportunity given to select a language. I cannot accept having to work with this language. All my programs have an English GUI. So, why can't this renowned firm? Is there a work-around (tweaking a XP system file)? Or can anybody offer the English SW? I have a Perfection V600 Photo.

Of course, I'd previously removed the Epson German version and re-started the OS. It looked good: the first dialogue window in English. Thereafter, these were in German. But I'd hoped the OS was still installing the English language version - a Trojan horse, if you like. Popped in the USB and power plugs, then started the Epson SW. Alas, everything was in German. __Old_Geezer, there are a variety of .exe files - somehow embedded in them must be a query of OS' language, which is then adjusted. There is *no* opportunity of choosing a language, be it the required .exe file or via a dialogue window. All downright annoying.
