Somalia has had its own terrorists for a while. They were formerly allied with al-Qaeda but had been thinking of switching to Isis; now it seems they have.

No idea about the leaders, but of ISIS fighters in general the UK comes in around 10th in terms of most fighters joining ISIS, with an estimated 600 or so (although this figure comes from the end of 2015, so is likely to be an underestimate). In Europe, More ISIS recruits come from France or Germany; also Russia has contributed somewhere near to 3,000.

Probably then it's "just" selection bias; naturally the British people will care the most about ISIS members from this country.

indeed we have to accept that terrorism out there and 'out there' means collapsed states such as Somalia - and I would go further - if we banned all flights from Somalia then we wouldnt get any here.

but can occur in Mandarin too - "my chinese teacher" can be ethnically chinese or teach me chinese... here British can qualify Islamic or be descriptive of the noun ( head )

The sad thing to watch on last night's news report was the children 'fighters'.
A ten-year-old boy didn't even know the name of 'isis' let alone what it's objectives are. When he had said he didn't want to fight anybody, he had been tied to a tree for a day and a night and beaten with a bamboo stick.
I'm not even sure if most of the men knew what they are about, joining isis is a job with pay, and the paymaster is Saudi Arabia. Why do we have any dealings with this scum?
