Dropped Laptop

Help! I have dropped my laptop, battery came out. When I put it back in, it tells me to press esc to restart. Nothing happens.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check none of the keys are stuck.

Press and hold the power button for at least 6 seconds and it should switch off.

Then restart and see what happens

Thanks tried that still nothing but there is a constant beep and it is getting very hot.

Have you tried an external screen? this would eliminate the screen.
How did it fall? hitting a corner on the edge etc.
Are the battery clips broken?

Well you would need to have a monitor or tv with compatible connections. I don't expect you have these.
Overheating could indicate the fan inside has stopped, if it has one.
