I have a HP Photosmart C4680, printer, scanner and copier.

Although it will print A4 sheets at a reasonable speed, when I want it to print an address on a DL envelope, it takes a good few minutes before it decides to print the envelope.

Please, does anyone know the reason for this?

Because it has to do more in sorting out positioning and layout for the address.not just print a sheet of text beginning to end.It has to work out more to get the address in the correct place

Would you be good enough to show me how to set that up, I have selected labels but cannot see avery J8163 only standard?

I am using Word.
if you go to Avery they offer templates for all their labels.

Oh I see, what you mean is that you print addresses onto specific sticky back labels and then stick them onto the envelope?

I also do this for my Christmas card envelopes when I have a number of addresses to print, but find it a little unpractical if one needs to print one single addressed envelope.
