Why Wont People Phone My Landline!!
19 Answers
Whist job hunting for a few weeks and uploading my CV etc to various recruitment agencies etc. I always give my landline as my primary number followed by my mobile.
Where I live I have virtually no signal on any of the networks so I cant receive calls on my mobile.
I am at home most of the time but when I do go into town, suddenly I get all these voice mail messages come in. I am having to tell people not to call my mobile now, and have stopped putting my mobile number as contact details.
Fortunately I found a job very soon after applying but still I get all these voicemail messages making enquires and inviting me for interviews etc. not one of them have phoned my landline, why is this?
It winds me up!!

It's also more private as less chance of getting someone else, especially if anything sensitive or confidential.
I would automatically go for a mobile number unless I had been told otherwise.
Things can move quite fast in the recruitment world so getting hold of candidates quickly can be important, especially if there is competition, as if you don't fill the vacancy then you don't get the fee.
