Statistics on browser usage often include mobile devices. With Android being, by far, the most popular operating system for mobile devices and given that Android and Chrome are both from Google, it's unsurprising that Chrome gets a lot of use. ^^^ Possibly, TheChair, but it might just be that some statistical bases are amalgamating figures for Chrome and Android browsers together (and simply referring to 'Chrome') as well as amalgamating the figures for Internet Explorer and Edge (and simply referring to 'Internet Explorer). The absence of any reference to Edge in the stats used in the original question, together with the way that data is represented here

Given the massive number of internet users in the relevant countries, I'm surprised that UC (which is the most popular browser in India and also popular in China), QQ (very popular for mobile devices in China) and Yandex's own web browser (from the firm behind Russia's most popular search engine) don't even figure in the stats.
