Printing Photos On Apple Computer

I have a printer and want to print out some of the images that are on my computer, however there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. The only print option seems to be to pay Apple to do the prints for me, surely I can print out my own photos, but how?

Any image-viewer or image-editing software should offer printing functions. The following are all freebies:
GIMP is superb. (It's every bit as good as the 'full' versions of Photoshop, costing hundreds of pounds). However it does have a steep learning curve and might be rather advanced for your needs:
