Land Line Phones Showing Out Of Range Message.
11 Answers
Can anyone solve this problem for me please? I own 3 BT phones plus answer machine, and my phone line is Virgin.
Recently they have started to display a 'out of range' message, and I am unable to receive or send calls, but I find that if I unplug them at the mains and then plug them back in, I can then get them operating correctly once again until the next time, they go 'out of range'.

If the former then yes C&C may be right and the wireless connection between one or more and the base station may be lacking power and need batteries replaced.
If the latter then that is strange ans seems an error. Could, I suppose, be a message passed back from a network microwave link that's failed ? But I'm clutching at straws.

Have you tried doing a system reset aog? You could try going into the handset menu and select system reset, then select replacing base and select yes. The display should then say replace handset on main base to register. Whilst the handset is registering it should display handset registering followed by registration complete.
I should think you will lose your saved contacts aog. I had another thought after my last post but waited for you to come back. Some wifi routers or av senders can interfere with cordless handsets have you recently or prior to your problem showing up changed or installed anything, and do you have near neighbours who may have installed or changed anything. You could try taking the base and handset and plugging it into another landline to prove at it is faulty or not.
