I'm trying to transfer some recordings I've made on Sky Plus to a disc on my DVD. A website gives me instructions, but I'm stuck where it says "Set the DVD recorder to the Line In feed (labelled AV, Line or Aux)" I can't find this term in my instruction manual.

My DVD is a Panasonic DMR-EX83.

Can anyone help please?

Is there a name by the connector on the back of the DVD player where you are plugging in the Sky box lead ? That's what you need to set the DVD recorder setting to as the data input/source. It'll probably be labelled one of those you mentioned in your question.
Looks like AV1 and AV2 are SCART sockets.

The first part of the instructions was to connect the Sky plus + DVD by scart leads. There is an AV Out at the back, but that's already got a wire going somewhere - sorry, I'm a bit of a technophobe, my sister set it up for me. I think I'll just try and record and see what happens.
That's a different connection. Aren't the SCARTS AV1 or AV2 or something similar ? Pick a free one and ensure the DVD is set to use it as input.
Whay you need to do is

sky to dvd via scart
on dvd use AV2 - see this page of the manual

You might already have a scart lead from the dvd to the tv, or you may have a scart from sky to dvd and sky to tv.

On the dvd select av2 as the input.

If you're still stuck, trace the cables you have and let us know whats connected to where.
Don't forget you won't be able to transfer certain content from your Sky box to dvd.
Depends upon the dvd recorder - my Toshiba won't record protected programs, my Aldi one does!
