Laptop Touchpad Advice Please

Is there a way to improve my "precision" touch pad as it seems that the right click facility seems to me to be increasingly spreading across the pad and making the other functions more restricted. Quite often I will try to click a button or link and get the term 'inspect element' or 'view source' whatever that means. Maybe it's just me but any advice is welcome. Running win 10 on Acer laptop
