Photos On Iphone Come Up Sideways

When I take a photo on my iPhone and view it, it comes up sideways. I cannot rotate it to the upright position. I've tried everything, any ideas? Many thanks, Bram

Put it into a photo editing app and turn & save.

Unsure why it always takes things in one orientation though. Have you tied holding the phone rotated the other way about ?

Yes we've tried taking them both ways but they always come up in the lateral view! Bram

Open the photo. Tap it.
In the right hand corner press edit.
The second tool down is the rotate tool.
Tap that, and at the top use the symbol to rotate in 90 degree intervals.

If you put your phone in the correct position, horizontal, or vertical BEFORE you open the camera app, it should open in the correct orientation.
