Is Face Book And Ebay Linked In Any Way ?

The reason I ask is that whenever I trawl on Ebay, looking for something, it seems to show up on Facebook.

How can I switch this connection off, presuming that it exists in the first place ?

I'm not too sure about cookies. If I don't allow them, will it mean that I will have to sign in on all my usual sites afresh every time ?

But how does Facebook know when I have been looking on ebay ?

FB doesn't know. A tracking cookie notes that you are looking at widgets on eBay and places the ad in FB

It doesn't sound like it has anything to do with cookies. Tho doing that would work probably.
Presumably it's coming up on FB saying 'mikey's bought a lawnmower on eBay' or whatever. It isn't just ads? I think you need to be logged in to eBay with your FB details for that to happen.

top right hand corner there are 3 lines, click on that, go down to settings then advanced options, content settings and then check the cookies do not track and the box "block third party sites"

Click settings, the advanced settings
Under the Privacy tab, click content settings. Tick block third party cookies and site data
Click Finish

WR..........yes there are, on my copy of CHROME anyway, and they are bright red !

HC....I have done what you suggest. I will monitor things and see if make any difference.

You can regularly clear out spyware cookies if you run the following on a regular basis.
