I've been asked to look after a friends work FB account to help promote his business. Someone who used to work for him created the account, friend never actually checked it. We've found the page on FB but he can't get into it for me to take over as he has no idea of the log in details and has lost touch with the colleague.any ideas??
Ok so if I create the page for him,and I need to run it, am I creating with my email etc as it will surely say I already have an account. And if I put his details then he'll get all the notifications which he doesn't want. Or am I being thick??
He wants to keep the page as it's got a lot of stuff on but we've tried the business phone number, email etc everything. - it doesn't recognise a thing!
Surely the business phone number will be the one used for the facebook page...ours links to the web site with all the contact details.... I would start there.
It's nothing dodgy - I've known his for years and years. He's with me now trying to sort this. Ok I've tried woofgangs link and followed what it says but it makes no sense. It says for accounts you can't log into so you then follow what it says and it then says you need to log in!
PS if there is info on the page he wants to retain, he can copy paste it to his computer or right click and download photos....he doesn’t have to be logged into the account he wants to get rid of to do this, he can be logged into any account
I'm not impressed with FB - as someonewith a similar email address to mine set up an account mistakeningly usin my address.
FB sent - to my email address - all the welcome emails etc. including the "one more thing before you start using FB" email - which to me is a double opt-in.
However the person was able to start using the account without the double opt-in!
I changed the password and closed the account - it was my email address!
Thus if a company only has a FB account and not a website, then they've lost me as a potential customer.
