I will shortly be buying a new laptop. What is the best way to transfer the files and programs from the old one to the new one? This includes my itunes library.

I'd get them networked, just put an ethernet cable from one to the other and send all your files to the new laptop. Rich
If you're using Win XP use 'Files and Settings Transfer Wizard', which will set up the new computer to match all the settings of the old one. You still have to install the programs, but your settings should be there. Works quite well.
