Mobile phone contract

Is there any way out of one?  I'm paying way over the odds, not getting value and hate my phone.  My guess is "no"...

A month's written notice usually works.

However, that's assuming you have completed the minimum term (eg 12 months, 18 months or whatever.)

It might help if you stated in your question how much of your minimum contract length you have remaining.

If you have a monthly contract then the supplier will often consider switching you to a new contract if there is a better one for you.

Also if you say you are unhappy with the phone they may consider a free, or cheap, upgrade.

Most phone suppliers do not like to lose customers so are willing to do a bit to try to keep them.

Cheers for the answers - I've paid 14 months bills of an 18 month contract but want to go back to PAYG.  Even if I pay up the remaining 4 months, it'll save me money in the long run.

Could you not just stop paying?

you can usually drop down the payments on your contract and then pay off the remainder of your contract at the lower price although one months notice is usually the required notice needed for this
