Laptop To Tv Connection.

We watch a lot of TV series that we've downloaded to our laptop. It's a pain to keep connecting a cable, so how can I connect wirelessly. Something simple and straightforward would be appreciated.

Another option would be put your shows on a portable hard drive and leave it plugged into the tv.

I can do that on my smart TV but my dumb TV won't play recordings on my external hard drive. I can also cast from pc or smart phone directly to the smart TV but I assume the Op has a dumb tv
