A bidder wants to cancel a bid for an item I'm selling. Can anybody tell me how I do it. Searched ebay site without success.

Go to your listing, click on the number of bids you have. Scroll to the bottom of the bidding page and click on 'cancel bids'.

Can he/she not cancel /withdraw it?

Once you've posted a bid you are committed. Ebay rules state seller must cancel.

Thanks very much wrongtupelo, I'll do that now.
The bidder has to cancel the bid, but it can only be done within an hour of placing the bid. eBay explains that bids are legally binding and you can only cancel in a few situations like having accidentally entered the wrong amount.
Otherwise you will have to wait and see if there is a higher bid. If not the seller can cancel the sale after the bidding ends.
