Sky Box On-Screen Icon Timeout

On my standard Sky Box, when you select Services, then System Setup, then Picture Settings, there is an option called On Screen Icon Timout. What does this do if I select it On.

Deleting from desktop?

Is that not for the irritating interactive 'red dot' that permanently defaces the corner of the screen? Maybe you can actually have it turn off now by itself!

Can't do any harm to try it...

As Aquariel surmises, once you enable the option the 'interactive' red dot disappears after a certain amount of time (something like 30 secs to 1 minute).
