Uninstalling Kaspersky

My internet security is due for renewal and I've been recommended to use Bullguard in place of Kaspersky. I recall when uninstalling Norton prior to Kaspersky an AB member advised of a certain process to "fully" unintsall Norton, rather than just clicking uninstall in programmes (poss buenchico?). Can anyone advise what I need to do re uninstalling Kaspersky, also any comments good or bad re Bullguard appreciated

Neither of these programs are top rated - you can get a full function Norton from Ebay for £10.99 which defends, cleans, backups and tunes.

Crapat cryptics you tried to sell me3 Norton when I needed antivirus software help and I'll say the same now as I did then.
I don't trust Norton and will never pay for a poor product when there is better on offer for free elsewhere.
I recommend Avast. It's free and highly commended by the internet community.

I help a considerable number of people with their computers out in the real world and a significant proportion of their problems stem from free antivirys programs. Norton - properly setup - is far and away the most safe and reliable. Why spend 100s of pounds on a computer then baulk at a few pounds on a decent antivirus. There are complicated processes, not recommended for the faint hearted, to ensure every part of a deleted program is removed in full. As far as your Kaspersky goes I`ve never found it to need anything other than its own uninstallation process.

I had Norton for a number of years when we first had computer and had nothing but trouble with it. It used to slow the PC down so much it hardly worked. I have heard that the newer versions of it are much better but since changing first to AVG and now to Avast I haven't had half the problems I had when paying for an Antivirus. To remove the old Antivirus I used a program that was recommended to me and that is Revo uninstaller.

I too do not know what Norton's is like now, but in the past found it slowed the PC to a crawl. Used free AV for a while until something got through. Replaced it with Kaspersky and used it ever since. Do have free AV on the android devices though.

my apologies to all for not responding sooner. Personal reasons.....I have not yet uninstalled Kaspersky. I'll be doing it this weekend. Thanks for suggestions re free security options. I did wonder about trying this route but got sucked in to "an offer" for Bullguard so for now that's what I'll be installing.

yes to quizproquo, that was the buenchico post I referred to. I did try looking through my questions but couldn't find it. How did you find it, it'll be helpful if I know so I can find things next time, save reposting

Thanks TheChair for the link to fully remove Kaspersky. Much appreciated. I've now looked at the "expertreviews" and see that the Bullguard suite, although coming 7th in the table, does still get a decent review, so as I've already bought it, I'll give it a go. I might later wish I'd stuck with Kaspersky, and can easily go back to that if need be. I simply took the advice of the local techie on this occasion, and for whatever reason, he likes Bullguard
