Can you use it outside in bright sunlight. For some strange reason, the shops won't let me take one outside to test.

None of the screen are much cop outside under bright sunlight......I first discovered that over 20 years ago, with my first laptop.

My phone screen is brilliant outdoors, mikey. Things have moved on a lot so I'm hoping this iPad screen will be okay.

Hopefully somebody has one
Doesn't matter how good the screen is, all iPads have a shiney surface therefore they will reflect their surroundings. My Ipad 2 air has to have the brightness whacked up to full even under an awning to be able to read it, which cuts down the battery life considerably.

Thanks, Buenchico. That's reassuring. It's a lot of money for a tablet and I am unfamiliar with Apple products but it's what she wants.
