My neighbour(s) wireless connection always appears on my wireless connection (within range) screen details. Can i get rid of my neighbour's connection details off my screen and if i cannot do they affect my computer's performance? Would the fact that we both use the same provider lessen the signal which we both receive?

You computer is just picking up the fact that your neighbour has a wifi router. If he was daft enough to not have a password on it, you could connect and save your broadband costs. In the same way, he can see yours but can't connect unless you don't have a router password. It will not affect your computer's performance at all.
In our area the buses have free wifi; when a bus goes past our house our computers can "see" it and we could connect if we were quick enough.
Some people use it to send messages to neighbours they don't get on with.

It won't effect your PC's performance at all. On my PC, I can ask it to "forget" a particular connection, although it soon pops up again !

Not sure why you want to get rid of though Porkie....it isn't doing any harm is it ?
