Alba 10" Tablet Internal Storage ?

Bought a cheap tablet which has 16 GB storage ,but in settings only 10GB available, I have used 5GB on apps and other stuff ie music and pics ,5GB available ,can anyone explain or can I take it back as faulty ,any help or advise appreciated thks

The missing 5GB is taken up by the operating system (OS), pre-installed apps etc.

As hc4361 says, OS and pre-installed apps will take up space. You'll find the same whichever tablet you buy.
