Logging on to above I've received what appears to be a common message on the lines of "Someone appears to be using your account", which suggests the account has been hacked. Haven't had much luck resolving by searching the internet but when I click on the 'Next' button, it takes me to 3 options as to how I'd like "to receive my code" - including my btinternet address and mobile number (neither in full) - you just have to tick the box as to how you'd like to receive your code. Do you think it would be safe to tick one of these?
That's the message I get if I use anything other than my own laptop - say if I'm using my sister's pc or on holiday. I just click for the 'get code by text' option - they send me a code, I use that to log on.
Fraid not ummmm. The message I get asking how I'd like to receive my 'security code' looks genuine (aren't they all?) but I'm not sure it would be a scam if they managed to quote both my btinternet email address and mobile number (albeit, as I say, not in full). I'm still nervous about ticking one of the options though!
Perfectly safe. It provides am additional level of security. Eg, someone who's guessed your password is unlikely to also be in possession of your phone.
Thanks again all. Ticked the box, received the security code and now up and running. Very impressed with service. Maybe Hotmail's not so bad after all!
