i have just acquired a technics double cassette player model RS-X102 but it doesn't have a power cable. can anyone suggest where i could get one? thanks in advance.

Unless it's a special Maplins are usually good for things like that; you could try their website.
If it's just the bog-standard figure-of-eight cable, this will do:

if you have weekly flea market near you there will be loads there usually in a big box with dozens of other types, cost ? pence
It depends which version of the RS-X102 you have.

Some have a fixed mains cord (which should obviously still be present)

Some may have a conventional mains input (figure of 8 or three pin) - but I can't find any pictorial evidence of this

but most are designed to take a low voltage input from the matching amplifier
