For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Hi, but you can get too much vitamin D from the cod liver oil, your body makes vit D from sunlight so if you are exposed to the sun and take too much cod liver oil you stand a chance to overdose on vit D and if you have low thyoid function your chance is much higher and vit D is one of the vits you do NOT want to overdose on.
note this is only a problem with cod, halibut and i think one other, but if you take fish oils read the labels for vit D content and be carefull.
