How do I turn it back on?
I have tried everything I can, even my daughter tried everything she knew how to do including some advise from google but to no avail.

When that happened to me I eventually discovered that the simple reason was the USB had worked loose from the port.

I should add checked wires etc, and I can print from my iPhone but not my laptop.

go to printer push power button to turn on printer manually then try to print

Have you checked if your printer is selectable from the HP Print and Scan Doctor which can diagnose HP printer problems

I think the OP is using the printer with wifi. I have this problem with an HP Envy 4507 printer and have to try switching printer / laptop / wifi off then on again, not always successfully. If anyone has an answer I would interested.
But I have found that HP issue an email address of the form [email protected]. Sending an email will print the email and any attachment.
On the printer control panel press the middle button on the right, this will show-
Email:
[email protected]
Status: Connected
ePrint: on
You can print out this info.
