Repeated Texts

Most times, when I get a text, I get a duplicate about 2-3 mins later, at least my iPhone goes bong again. Does anybody know why I am getting these repeats ?

you don’t get the text twice Mikey, you get two text noises. If you just read the text on your home screen without unlocking the phone, the phone will bong again to make sure you know you have got the text. If you unlock the phone or open imessage then the phone won’t bong again. You can edit or turn off bongs or change them to vibrate in settings.

Your service provider doesn't have the budget for new texts all the time. They should increase the licence fee, or start showing advertisements.
