Work Offline To Watch Dvds

hi, can anybody tell me how to go offline to watch dvds because I only pay for 10gb month I have windows xp and use google . thanks

10gb a month christ I'd use that in under a week.... get a better deal for unlimited broadband loads about

If you have the DVD then there is no reason to access the Net. If you are streaming the DVD from the Net though, then that's a different matter.

I assume that you're referring to movies on the internet, rather than to physical DVDs (which don't need an internet connection or even a computer!).

Regrettably there's no way of getting a movie to your computer over the internet without it adding to your data usage. You can certainly save it to your hard drive and then watch it later (when you're offline) but the act of downloading it in the first place will still use just as much data as if you streamed it to watch immediately.

With the advent of smart TVs (and many other devices which rely upon an internet connection), very few ISPs even offer 'capped' packages these days. ('Uncapped' is very much the norm). So it might be time to shop around for a better deal.

How to go offline ? Just turn off the connection, or unplug the cable, or turn off the router/modem.

As far as I'm aware there are no deals that don't demand DD nor that come quarterly with the phone bill, no none are attractive.

I have a computer that I can watch region 1 dvds on, my dvd player broke that played them , so I want to go offline so that I do not go over my limit as I have bought a box set of region 1 discs thanks

If you play a DVD on your computer you won't be using any data through your router so, even if you leave your computer online, it won't affect your monthly allowance. So there's no need to go offline.

If you do choose to go offline anyway, the simplest method is probably just to switch off (or remove the power lead from) your router.
