Can Anyone Help With This Please?

I have a Moto E3 phone which I can pair up with my car via Bluetooth. It does pair up successfully with everything on my phone except my contact list. As my car has hands free, I need the list to be able to make calls but when I download the contact list to my car it says there are no contacts. I have selected the option to download contacts, but it just goes off the screen without any contacts being downloaded. This baffles me. If everything else is being downloaded, why not the contact list? The contacts are on the SD card and the phone memory, so I'm baffled because this problem has only recently occurred. The list was downloading last week, but now it won't. I don't remember altering any settings on my phone, so if anyone can give any suggestions I'd be really grateful. Thanks.
