Samsung Galaxy.. The Saga Continues.. Help!!

Hi all, so sorry to bother you all again.. Further to my previous post.The phone used 6mg of data during last night when I was not using it. I went into another Carphone Warehouse today as in Settings Data Usage, Google Services now have a blue line to the end saying 3.53MB used and Waze says 3.32MB used so almost to the end of the line. Internet says 2.19MB used then other apps are lower... But I hardly use these apps!! When I click on each blue line individually it gives me I.e. For Google Backup Transport, Play services, account manager etc Background 2.71mb and foreground 0.95mb. I even know what Google Services means.. Under Background Data Google is switched off and so is Internet so how is background data still being used? The guy in the shop didn't know. HE then said to switch Data off but then I cant use my phone without wifi. I am getting to the end of my tether with this phone now, it seems it is down to the Update I did a couple of weeks afo. So pleeease someone, why is Background Data being used when some apps are disabled? Should I switch Background off completely? Hope this makes sense, I am not technical AT ALL... What would you do with this phone... ??

Firstly switch mobile data off - that is only used when you are 'picking it up from the air' and not when you are using wifi connected to home for example. I have a Galaxy and never use my mobile data.

Thanks, if I switch it off will it stop all background data which is using up all my monthly allowance? I didnt have any of these problems before I did the update, everything was switched on and I hardly used any data per month ...

Well I'm not that technically minded but I switch my mobile data off, only use the internet and apps therefore when it's connected to my home or a guest wifi and therefore I never use any of my monthly allowance because it doesn't count unless your phone network provides it for you (via mobile data).
