Song Playing At 2 Different Volumes.
27 Answers
A while back, someone transferred a vinyl LP onto CD for me.
I no longer have the CD, but the album is in my iTunes.
When the transfer from vinyl to CD was being done, the person turned up the volume in the middle of the song I wanted most, and so this track plays starting softly, and then gets louder!
Is there anything that can be done to make it play at the same volume throughout the track?
I don’t have the option of downloading the album/track, it’s a rare album and the CD’s sell for about £50.
Thanks.

As I said Bigbad, you can make the individual tracks play at different levels. If the tracks have been copird at different volume settings you can turn down the high level ones or the low level ones up. Or Both. All you need to know before you try is which tracks you want higher or lower in the iTunes library.
Look what I found Bigbad. :))
I had already checked it on mine.

//By the way, this works with all types of music, because this is volume related, and I would recommend it for every genre. It should be clear that I’m not talking about the type of music, because obviously something like hard rock is going to be louder than soft rock, I am talking about the actual sound volume of the playback. The reason there is variation in overall volume can be due to a multitude of reasons, whether it’s the source audio, to the way it was ripped and turned into a digital format.//
From the link Jno. If that doesn't work looks like Bigbad is going to have to re-recorded it. Love my iTunes. :))

The waveform needs editing and with a half decent audio editing program such as Adobe Audition (formerly Cool Edit Pro) would be quite simple to do unfortunately this software is very expensive however there is a free audio editor called Audacity I have not used this piece of software but it may do what you require but remember free will not give you quality.
It may be easier if you said what track you are referring to and someone may be able to guide you to an available download

Bertrum, I already have Audacity, but have only used it for ‘chopping up’ songs to use in a quiz.
I wouldn’t know how to use it for anything else.
If you are volunteering(!) the track is Medley: Thoroughly Modern Millie/Second Hand Rose/Mame from the 1968 album Live at London's Talk of the Town by Diana Ross and The Supremes.
