let it dry out for a day, then try it
You could try blowing a hair drier through the vents and if you are able to remove the back make a visual check. Depends on how much water went into the set to ensure that it is dried out and not pooling in a plug or a horizontal board. Again if you can you could tilt or turn the set upside down to make sure that water is not holding somewhere and then use a hair drier. Even placing it in a sunny spot may help the water evaporate.
If it's anything like mobiles you bury it in rice and shove it in the airing cupboard for a day, or however long it takes. It'd be a massive amount of rice for a TV though.

You can only opt not to turn it on, and thus allow the water to short out and destroy the electronics, until you are sure the water has all evaporated. Try taking the back off and keeping it warm. Then you trust to luck.

You can alway try a repair shop if that doesn't work, but these days most things tend not to be economical to repair. You may be looking at replacing it.

I might use a hairdryer to get it all the water out but since it is a old TV, I can't just tip it over because it is bulky and heavy.

Point Snakeman. If it is not a slimline set the back is not difficult to remove though. Then you can direct the drier where needed.
