as far as I know it's broadcast on radio worldwide.

Here (for instance) are Asia-Pacific frequencies

World Service short wave transmissions are now limited to just a few specific target areas but you can sometimes pick them up elsewhere in the world:

BBC Radio 4 can be heard on long wave (198 kHz) across large parts of Europe.

Where are you travelling to?
Hey AD are you still on your travels?

Hey everyone long time no talk! No real travelling just a short trip to Tenerife xxx
The BBC World Service in particular is retransmitted on local FM and sometimes on MW in a wide variety of countries, although sometimes only at limited periods per day (but the schedule repeats in 8-12 hour cycles daily or else individual programmes are repeated within a week). I believe the BBC will inform you at what frequency and what times this can be found wherever you expect to travel - or else that there is no local retransmission available there. Quite a few years ago I simply phoned them - but I seem to remember that, oddly, they doubted that they had a comprehensive record of all retransmissions/relays and they wouldn't send me a full list of all they knew of.
If you've got a shortwave radio you might be able to pick up those BBC World Service transmissions which are targeted at West Africa:

However Tenerife isn't short of English language radio stations!

Coast FM broadcasts in English, with news bulletins supplied by Sky News. (102.5Mhz & 102.8MHz).

Spectrum FM is also in English, on 105.3MHz.

Another English language broadcaster is Oasis FM on 101.0Mhz and 101.2Mhz.

Yet another station in English is Oasis FM, on 98.2Mhz.

PowerON FM also broadcasts in English, on 89.5Mhz.
