Cant Download Software For New Printer

I have an E430 Emachines laptop, a few years old now, with 64GB and Windows 7. I normally use Mozilla Firefox and the laptop is quite slow. Just bought an HP Envy 4527 wireless printer which I have connected to the internet and to my ipad, but have tried unsuccessfully to download the software to my laptop as I use my laptop when I am printing. I have tried with the laptop the new printer CD and from the HP website. The laptop goes through the motions of loading the software for about 15 minutes then says ' The installation has been cancelled and all associated files have been removed from your computer'. It doesnt say why. Is my laptop too old? HHelp please in laymans terms!! Thanks

If you're having problem installing it then (obviously after downloading it first), restart your laptop into Safe Mode. (Press F8 during your laptop's boot process to get there). Don't worry if your screen looks odd; it will just mean that the display driver hasn't been loaded. Then try running the HP installation file while in Safe Mode. (To exit Safe Mode simply restart your laptop again).

Hi Chris I tried running the installation in safe mode but it says server not responding, cant get into answerbank website either. Is this because it is in safe mode? Also tried the CD but it started running and then stopped... I can print from my ipad notes but the font is too large. Is there any other way to get this laptop working with the printer?? Thanks all.

Hi, the blue light was flashing, very slowly, then I checked that the installation was in the downloads folder .. I will go into safe mode, then into the downloads folder and click on the installation there. As the blue light was flashing slowly, and sometimes not at all, how can I tell it has completely installed? Sorry about all the questions ... Thanks for your ongoing help!

The easiest way to find out if the software is properly installed is probably to try and print something! (When you go to File > Print, or press Ctrl and P together, look to see if your new printer is shown there. If you only see your old printer listed, check the drop-down menu to see if the new one is now shown as available).

Ok tried everything, at wits' end. InstalledFull Web Pack 1122 and downloaded in Safe Mode. It started extracting, all going OK, even had USB in from printer to laptop and CD in. Said software required for device could not be installed. Tried printing from laptop, as in devices and printers it showed my printer, and at bottom of screen said network connected, but wouldn't print, it said on the laptop No default printer found. Tried to find printer on laptop and the arrow was faded. Troubleshooting said it couldn't identify the problem. So sorry to keep going on but if I print from my ipad, my second choice, with Notes or Email the print is far too large and I can't change it. Help someone !!
I did see your post a few days ago but thought you had it sorted. Firstly have you tried connecting to laptop with a lan cable? Just to see if it will print non wireless.
You dont say Smurf whether you have a homegroup set up. This can cause issues when you change printer and may need setting up again. Just a question for curiosity sake. Are you using a 3rd party security product? McAfee is notorious for blocking access to spoolsv.exe.
Also have you tried to install HP Universal Printing software (download from HP website). That software acts like a manager and every time you print, the software will prompt you where to print.

The laptop is connected via the usb port to the printer, and cd is in. The laptop is installing selected software as we speak ... I use Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Security Essentials. Lets see what happens... It is now installing google chrome... I think the drivers are the problem.... I will try the Universal Printing Software and let you know .... Now installing network device so fingers crossed ...
