I have a
hard drive (USB3) with a lot of important stuff on. It contains files directly transferred from a broken USB2 hard drive which was failing. Now when I plug the new usb3 drive into my old PC it doesn't recognise it. My old PC has Adobe premiere pro cs3 which I use to edit films, and I can't get that onto my new PC as Adobe no longer support it (hopeless). Is there any way I can now put all my files from the USB3 hard drive onto a USB2 drive (do they even sell them anymore?) or is there such a thing as a USB3 to USB2 adaptor? Thank you!!
USB 3 is backward compatible and the drive should be readable in a USB 2 port try the drive in another computer if it is readable backup the files to a more reliable source if it is not you may have a corrupted drive / file system, there are several utility's for scanning and repairing faulty pen drives but they are seldom successful
Thanks for the info, I've managed to transfer it using a different PC to a new hard drive. Still a bit worried for all my old USB2 hard drives and hope I don't have to buy all new ones to make them work!
