Hubby has an iPhone for the first time and wants to transfer his contact lists from the Bb. I've googles and a site to tell me what to do. Like using Bb Link or Bb Desktop on the PC, which I have tried, but the computer can't read the BB.

Another method was to use the InTouch app on the Bb. I tried to install it, a message came up saying I don't have any devices and to use the Play Store app, which also said I have no devices.

Please can someone help? I'm going round in circles and OH is getting annoyed with my hysterics.

Thank you

Also, he has a personal gmail account, but needs to keep his business one, too. Almost all of his email contacts are used with the business account.
"but the computer can't read the BB"

Why not? Transferring contacts from Blackberry to iPhone is childsplay with Blackberry Desktop. You just back up the Blackberry, which will save everything including contacts to the machine's disk drive, plug in the iPhone, go to iTunes, click Info and tick the 'Sync Contacts' box. Then sync the iPhone and the contacts will be transferred - job's a good 'un, as we used to say in the 90s :-)

Dave, I don't know why the computer can't read the BB. I've plugged two different BBs into two different computers using the BB software, but no combination results in it working. The 'back up' link is greyed out, and the computer says there are no devices connected.

I'm just re-installing the software, so if it doesn't work after that I'm at a loss.

Thanks for your reply.

I've re-installed the software, and the comp is still unable to connect to the Bb, so the 'back-up' option is still greyed out.

(This is just a shameless bump, really :(

Getting fed up now. Every time I walk in the room where OH is, he looks at me like a hopeful dog needing a snack or a walk.)
Has the Blackberry ever been able to connect to the desktop, though? If so, has anything changed? Have you tried the battery pull? Have you tried a different USB cable?

Well, thanks Dave.
Got the first step done. Got the comp and Bb talking to each other and the data backed up. I hope, properly.
You'll never guess what worked - I switched them both off and on again :)

Next step, getting data onto the iPhone. More fun! I'll do that tomorrow. Had enough for today. I might be back!

Thanks again, Dave.
Welcome. You've done the hard bit, so I'm sure the rest will be fine.

Back again!
Do I go to iTunes on the computer? Do I need their app?
Question Author
I've got iTunes on a different computer from the one the backup is on, but even so I can't see anywhere to click on info or sync.

Another shameless bump, sorry :(
I'll leave you alone on this subject.
Hello, I use phone transfer software to move the contacts and other files from one phone to another phone. I use MobiKin mobile transfer tool, I think it works well on my side, maybe it helps.
