Sensible answers ? ... "Leaving you tv on standby wastes a lot of electricity" ...
There are 8760 hours in a year, so your tv will use 8.76kWh in a year while on standby.
Currently 1kWh from one of the big 6-energy company costs 14 pence, so over a year that will cost you £1.23
If someone said ..' you can save yourself £1.23 a year, all you have to do is climb over your tv twice a day to plug it in and then unplug it again. You only have to do it 730 times a year' .. would you honestly accept this as good advice.
It's just a thought ... do you un-plug your fridge and freezer at night just in case they overheat ..
