I am starting up as a mobile DJ, and I want to advertise on Facebook, because I am advised that this is where people will look for a party DJ.

How can I ensure that my Facebook page will be seen by the right people?

I am a complete beginner with FB - my daughter is going to set up my page for me, I just need to know what to put on it - images, etc., and how to make sure that the right people, and enough of them can see it.

Thanks for any advice.

As someone with more than 35 years in entertainment my suggestion is that you really need to work on a punchier delivery style and lose this tendency to waffle and ramble on ad nauseam or all the Facebook plugs in the world won't get you a second gig.

Me-me-me-me-me is a warm up for singers, not a war cry or catchphrase.

Funnily enough Douglas, I have just about managed to grasp that posting on a Q & A website, and advertising my DJ skills on Facebook will actually require different approaches.

It's amazing!

I speak to my wife differently than I speak to my newsagent as well!

Incredible, I know - but thanks for that 'years of experience' advice, I don't know what I would have done without it.

Well, actually, I do know ...
Goodness me, Andy. Lighten up!

Tilly - When I am not being called a manipulator of Site Rules, or being patronised by a 'showbiz veteran', you'll find me as light as a feather, promise!
It's people being rude to Andy for no reason.
I'll look forward to that Andy. Good luck in your 'newish' venture and I hope to see you soon at my uncle's 80th birthday bash. February, next year. I'll tell him to look out for you. He won't look on Facebook though. :-)
Please yourself. :-)
