I am trying to put coordinates into a Garmin sat nav but I'm struggling with the method.
The coordinates I was given are written like this (the style not the numbers).
N22°22.333 W333.22.333 (where the numbers I've written are the amount of numbers in that space) ie 2,2,3 etc.
But when I try to put them into the sat nav the closest method is
N22°22.4444 W333.22.4444
So as you can see there is an extra number required in the sat nav.
I have tried putting a 0 at the end or putting a 0 at the beginning to make the last numbers total 4. But neither work.
I've input coords into gps's before but they have used the first method. This is my first car sat nav and its got me beat.
I hope you can understand all this.
I have to go out now so I'll read, hopefully, any solutions given later.
Many thanks.

On my (old) Garmin, when you put in co-ordinates it takes you through them digit by digit ie, it gives you a proforma that you work through.
I think your second co-coordinate should be:
W333°22.333
in other words, the stop after the degrees should be replaced by the ° (degrees symbol).
Which model of Garmin is it - it might want the co-ordinates in a different format.

Thanks to both of you.
bhg, tried that thanks but no joy.
Tuvok. That's a good site I've bookmarked it.
In the meantime when I got back home I contacted garmin help. They had no answer. They suggested I update the satnav with garmin express. I told them I had already done it this morning as I usually do. They said try it again, it couldn't hurt. So I did and what do you know, I stuck a 0 on the end and this time it worked!!
I have no idea if the update did it or not, indeed I don't know why it would but there you go. Fingers crossed it stays working.
Thanks again for your replies.
