Never Again Gumtree

My first attempt to post an ad in Gumtree - they have readily taken the money from my account. Yet no response to my answers either to gumtree or the seller.

Tried several times to contact them - they send a "no reply answer". I sent and phoned a seller - no reply - have perused the ads for about 2 hours and couldn't see my post.

To be Honest - I genuinely thought Gumtree was genuine. Now I know it isn't

I'm confused Jenny, what's happened? Have you seen soemthing for sale and paid money to the person and not received the goods? If so how did you pay them?
Have you tried phoning them, conne. A couple of numbers on this link, one of them will cost you 7p a min though.

So is there a For Sale section and a Wanted section and you had posted an ad saying you wanted to buy something? And then you paid for something but didn't receive it?
I think jj has put a item for sale on gumtree ?
There are two references to a seller though, anne

Hope this doesn't confuse you any more. I saw a suite of furniture I really wanted but it became sold. However I was able to take a picture and put it on Gumtree - "Wanted exact replica etc". Was contacted by a peruser like myself who informed me it was in such and such a place. Got into that site and lo and behold the exact suite was there - now I was looking for 3 x 1 x 1 - this was 3 x 2. I still didn't care - I contacted Gumtree, seller, and took a chance on ringing them (seller) and left a message - no answer from nobody. contacted Gumtree on email - all I get back is thanks but this is a "no reply" reply.

Incredible.
so it's

up a gumtree .... is it ? ter - daaah
What timeframe are we talking that you have had no response?
Well JJ was asking about it yesterday!
What have you actually paid for? I thought gumtree was free...
So you found what you wanted on another site? Is that correct? If so what's it got to do with Gumtree exactly. I use Gumtree and it is light but I've never had to pay for anything, what dud you pay fir?

I too thought the majority of private listings were free, you only paid if you wanted prominence - maybe it's changed recently.
tbh you have no comeback from sellers on GT like you do on ebay, I'd look there if it were me. Having said that, I bought two cameras on Gumtree and both served me well. The second one I bought is the one I am currently using and it's brilliant. It was a bargain too. My car also came from Gumtree and I've had about six years happy driving in it. The previous one I looked at however turned out to be a con and the guy selling it was a crook.

I would like you to see the relevant suite - I have the picture of it on pictures and desktop.

How can I bring it on here. Thanks
You could upload it here:

Use Buenchico's guidance here on uploading using upl.

actually yes, do that ^
tinypic seems to have gone up the spout
Agreed it used to be easy to use, now less so.
Jj - I'm still not clear, were you directed to another site by this fellow gumtree person? If so what site was it?
