Just search for 'YouTube to MP3 player' and follow the instructions on one of them. It involves copying and pasting the YouTube link.
Search You Tube for the music you require.
Click on it when you've found it, to start it playing.
Go to the address bar, at the top of the screen, and you will see the web address for that piece, starting https://youtube, then a series of letters and numbers.
Highlight it by clicking and dragging the cursor along the address.
A panel will appear giving you an option to "copy"
Click on that, then go to WMP.
In WMP, right click on the address bar and a panel will appear giving you the option to paste. Click on that, and it should be in your music library. Alternatively, download Real Player onto your system, and when you go into You Tube for anything, a Real Player option will appear at the top of the screen for you to copy into Real Player. From Real Player, you can copy into WMP, or onto disc, sync to phone etc.

Thank you, the RtHonSec, but where is the address bar on WMP? I don't think mine has an address bar
Music files aren't 'in' Windows Media Player (or, indeed, in any other program). They simply sit in a folder on your computer that can be accessed by WMP (or an alternative player). So start by making sure that you know where that folder is. (It's possibly just the 'Music' folder within 'Libraries', or one of its subfolders).

Then . . .

Go to the Youtube page where the relevant video is.

Right-click in the address bar (to highlight the URL).

Select 'Copy'

Go here: https://www.onlinevideoconverter.com/mp3-converter

Right-click in the 'Paste here' field.

Select 'Paste'

Click 'Start'

Once the conversion is complete, click 'Download'

When a dialogue box opens, select the 'Download' option and click 'OK'

In the next dialogue box, navigate to where you want the file to be stored. (If your MP3 files are simply in your 'Music' folder, all you have to do is to click on 'Music' in the left-hand panel).

Click 'Save File'

Your music file will now be accessible to Windows Media Player.

[NB: Stream-ripping (i.e. saving video or audio from Youtube) is ILLEGAL and costs the music industry billions of pounds each year. I generally only do it for music which isn't easily obtainable by paying for it, e.g. audio of school choirs singing or music tracks which are only sold in Asian countries]
It is illegal, Chris but some artists are in favour of it because it keeps them in the public eye, so to speak. Some aren't in favour as well, to be fair. I suppose it evens itself out among the performers.
